Xiaomi Mi 6 launching on April 19, likely to feature Snapdragon 835 processor

Xiaomi Mi 6 will be officially announced on April 19. While Xiaomi was expected to announce the device today, the company just revealed the launch date instead. The company has posted an official teaser confirming the launch date for next Wednesday.

In its teaser, teh company states that the Mi 6 is a result of seven years of experience and claims that its is a "guaranteed performance beast". Xiaomi Mi 6 has already appeared on various benchmarking platforms. The handset is tipped to feature a 5.1-inch 1080p display and may be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 platform. Other smartphones powered by the platform include the Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8+.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is tipped to come with two variants. One with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and the other with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage. The smartphone is expected  to feature a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera as well. Xiaomi is also rumoured to launch a larger Mi 6 Plus with 5.7-inch display. Both Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus are expected to run MIUI based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

A recent leak tipped Mi 6 with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage to cost 2,199 Yuan (approx. Rs. 20,500) and while the other variant might cost  2,599 Yuan (approx. Rs. 24,200). The Mi 6 Plus is rumoured to come standard with 6GB RAM and be priced at 2,599 Yuan for 64GB storage, 3,099 Yuan (approx. Rs. 28,900) for 128GB storage and 3,699 Yuan (approx. Rs. 34,500) for 256GB storage variant. With the official launch just a week away, we can expect more details to emerge in the next few days.
