uTorrent Will Soon Be Available in Your Web Browser, Says BitTorrent Founder

While online piracy has faced some setbacks in the past few years, it seems like Web pirates now have something new to look forward to as BitTorrent creator has announced that uTorrent client will soon make a transition to Internet browsers. Interestingly, users will not have to install separate browser applications to get this experience but will get it from their existing browsers.

BitTorrent creator Bram Cohen said that the "new revision" of the uTorrent client will run in user's default browser and will provide a "nicer experience" than the current version, as per a report by TorrentFreak. With this transition, uTorrent client inside the browser will be able to use modern widgets, and the developers will also be able to integrate vastly improved streaming service, based on new technology, TorrentFreak points out.

Notably, the new version of the uTorrent client will carry some of the elements from company's now-defunct Maelstrom browser. Just like regular streaming services available on Internet, the new version of the client will also be able to allow users to stream videos from torrents. As the client will work with the user's existing browser, it is likely to be a convenient change that might improve the user experience substantially.

However, it seems that the company realises that pushing out such a major change to the torrent client can easily back-fire if users do not react to it positively. This is why the transition to browser will be pushed out widely only after gaining feedback from users.

"We're very, very sensitive. We know people have been using uTorrent for a very long time and love it. So we're very, very sensitive to that and gonna be sure to make sure that people feel that it's an upgrade that's happening. Not that we've just destroyed the experience," Cohen was quoted as saying in the report.

We will have to wait and see how the new version of the uTorrent client shapes up and is received by the users when it will be rolled out widely by the company.
